J-Shun Harris, Class of 2014, Future Tiger Hall of Famer

J-Shun Harris is one of the classiest young men the Tiger program has had the honor of nurturing into a top-level athlete and individual.  His impact on the program can’t be understated as his measure will be one that many receivers and playmakers strive to emulate in years to come.

In 2013, J-Shun Harris put up 3 games that put his name on the top10 FHS receiving yards records list with 189 against Carmel in sectionals, 144 against Noblesville and 131 against Westfield.  His senior season put him on top of the FHS record book with 12 receptions in the Carmel sectional game showing that J-Shun is a big game player.  J-Shun’s 1,027 receiving yards and 62 receptions in his senior season put him at the top single season mark for a Tiger.  J-Shun finished his Tiger career as the program leader in receptions (133) and yards receiving (2,032) and TD receptions (17).

The depth of the position in the state of Indiana during J-Shun’s senior year meant he was unfairly overlooked for many post-season honors by those that come from more traditional programs but the Tiger family knows that he was #1 in the state at the position and deservedly takes his game to the Big 10.

One of the blessings of J-Shun’s impact on the Tiger program is that his influence on the program will be ongoing as his collegiate career is expected to provide even greater influence on younger Tigers.    J-Shun is heading to Indiana University to continue his career and will add to the explosive offense that has become a trademark of Coach Kevin Wilson’s Big10 offense in recent seasons.  There is no doubt to many Tiger fans that J-Shun will be shredding opponents as a receiver and possibly a kick returner.  J-Shun is most likely to be red-shirted in his first season at IU.

Join me in wishing J-Shun Harris all the best as he heads to Bloomington and achieves all that he wishes.  We thank you for your leadership and example while at FHS.

The summer season is approaching and the Tiger football team is already getting serious about the season to come.  We see off some great players from the class of 2014 but can see the hunger in those that remain.  Over the next couple of months, we will feature some of the players that will be playing a key part in the Tigers quest for glory and also doing some special features on the Tigers that are going to the next level.

Go Tigers!!!  Reach for the top!
