Tigers Defeated By Brownsburg

Fishers Tigers lose 31-0 in a tough regular season final against Brownsburg who get through the Hoosier Crossroads Conference undefeated.

The offense failed to generate yardage and with offensive line blocking left the Tigers scoreless for the first time since the 2009 sectional loss to Carmel.  The absence of Conner Christiansen was noticeable and abundant Tiger turnovers allowed Brownsburg to take their 9th victory of the season with no losses.

Next week, the Tigers will be traveling to Anderson for 1st round of sectional play.  A review of Anderson's record shows they can put points up easily but have defensively had trouble.  At the time of this write up, we have learned that Anderson has surprised Kokomo.  Given the offensive troubles currently for Fishers, this is not great news and certainly a different outlook from just a few hours earlier.

Bottom line is the Fishers defense can't win games without an effective offense that can maintain control of the ball and get first downs.  In losses against Zionsville and Brownsburg, the Tigers have been unable to generate the kind of yardage on the ground that has propelled them to victories.

More analysis of Anderson will be coming next week and this fan hopes we can find that the running game has every chance to come alive.  If not, it could be a very humbling trip to an inferior foe in sectional play.
