Zionsville Preview

Zionsville @ Fishers, Friday Sept 28th 7pm

The key to Friday night’s homecoming game against Zionsville will to limit the effectiveness of Senior QB Parker Dunshee.  Dunshee is the leader of a balanced Eagle offense that is #2 in scoring offense behind our own Tigers.

The Tigers will need to quickly react to the Zionsville offense as play develops and be able to correctly read pass or run.  Throwing the ball, Zionsville’s Dunshee is completing passes at a rate of 68% with 81 of 119 and will need to complete the passes to open up enough space for the running backs in this balanced attack.  Parker Dunshee is effective keeping the ball and gaining his own rushing yards at times, even being the team’s leading rusher against Noblesville.

Zionsville running back Cole Wendt will get most of the carries running behind fullback Steven Wisnewski.  If the Eagles get deep into the red zone, Wisnewski will be a favorite option to punch it across the goal line but Zionsville has many weapons on the ball with Coleton Smith, TE John Naumcheff, Alpha Diallo and Matt Penola.  To reiterate, the Eagles have a plethora of options on offense and will try to open the door with an array of looks that will keep their offense on the field and try to tire the Tigers defense.  Closing the lanes and putting pressure on Dunshee will be key.  Zionsville’s asset of Dunshee’s maturity and leadership will be the Tiger’s greatest test.

The schedule so far for the Eagles again means they have not seen a strong schedule yet with their toughest outing being a 50-35 loss to the HSE in the LOS game before we beat Avon that same night.  With the maturity and experience, you have to meet them head on and take away their flow and keep the Tiger offense on the field and grab every takeaway opportunity.

Zionsville’s schedule so far with scores:
Zionsville          41 Jefferson                 20
Zionsville          31 McCutcheon              7
Zionsville          28 Noblesville               0
HSE                  50 Zionsville                 35
Zionsville          35 Westfield                 18
Zionsville          55 Harrison                  14
